The role of a Tech Artist is something I've slowly grown into by pursuing what I enjoy the most in 3D and CG work. My first job was as a Character Animator for a TV-Show back in Norway. I later went into advertisement, having to ninja my way through the whole pipeline. I worked light, render and comp for quite a few years before I started dabbing in some scripting and coding. Today my main tool is Houdini. I'm definitively a problem solver, I like the RnD phase and Houdini is the perfect tool for this!

On my spare time I often mix between experimenting in Houdini or working on some of my own game projects.

I grew up with influences from the Commodore 64, Amiga 500 and the Nintendo NES. Being a gamer I also early on got curious on how these machines could be used for creative purposes. Still too young to really understand too much, it wasn't util I got my first PC I really started exploring the possibilities that opened up. For a little while I was a part of the Scandinavian Demo Scene, touring some LAN parties and creating demo content. Being a little bit all over the place with all the possibilities, coding, music, graphics... This interest initially got me on the path to get a degree in IT. But it didn't take more than a couple of years before I realized I needed to pursue a much more creative path to be happy. Coincidence have it, those two degrees have now merged perfectly together in my role as Tech Artist.
